Live Tracking of Shuttles Now Available via Web and PDAs
The Office of Parking & Transportation Services has initiated an easy and effective way for you to manage your shuttle ride to and around campus. Effective Monday, August 16, 2010, you will be able to track your shuttle bus using either the internet or a pda.
If using the internet, log on to www.howardshuttle.com, check the box for the shuttle you would like. The interactive map will give you the shuttles route, location and the estimated time the shuttle will arrive at a certain stop.
If you are using a pda and would like to know when the next shuttle will arrive at a stop, you would text ‘hushuttle’ and the stop number to 41411. For example, if you are at the Howard University Bookstore which is stop 7. You would text “hushuttle 7” to 41411 you will get a text message of the arrival time. See legend below for stop numbers for locations on campus.

Bus Rules
Scheduled Howard University Shuttle Bus Service (HUBS) is provided for the University's faculty, staff, students and visitors to and from Main Campus, various parking lots, dormitories, the School of Divinity, the School of Law, and other University based locations. Service to and from the Shaw/Howard University and Brookland/CUA Metro stations is also provided by HUBS. The following rules apply to patrons utilizing the Howard University Shuttle Bus Service.
Shuttle Bus Policies and Rules
- All patrons must present a valid ID card (HU faculty/staff/students - validated Capstone ID card; visitors - passes are available from the Office of Parking & Transportation Services)
- Patrons must board and discharge at authorized shuttle bus stops. (Drivers will only stop at authorized stops)
- The following are prohibited on all Howard University shuttle buses:
- Eating and drinking
- Smoking
- Playing radios/Walkmans/CD players, etc. w/o headphones
- Fighting
- Driver harassment
- Profanity
- Defacing shuttle bus
