1. What is the Bison One Card?
The Bison One Card is the official Howard University identification card. It provides access to spaces and services and much more!
2. Where do I go to get my Bison One Card?
New students can obtain the Bison One Card in location below. Please bring with you a valid form of U.S. government issued identification (for example: driver’s license, state identification card, US Passport, etc.) or a valid Passport.

3. Can I submit my photo online?
Yes, between May 1, and July 30 all validated incoming first time students for Fall 2012, may submit photos online via BisonWeb. The student will receive an email with information where to retrieve their Bison One Card once the submitted photo has been approved.
4. How do I report a lost/stolen card?
Log onto https://howard.managemyid.com to report your lost or stolen card. The first time you sign on, you will be required to register. Reporting your card lost on the Manage My ID website will automatically deactivate your current card and report it to the Bison One Card Office.
5. How do I replace a lost/stolen/damaged card?
You will need to pay a charge of $25 to replace a lost, stolen, or damaged card, except if the card damaged is caused by normal wear and tear. Students are also charged a replacement fee of $25 if the ID card :
(a) is hole punched,
(b) otherwise damaged due to negligence, e.g. ID card was washed and/or dried with clothes
(c) intentionally destroyed in other ways or forms.
Students can pay using Bison Bucks in the Bison One Card Office. If paying by cash, please pay in the Cashier’s Office (1st floor of the Administration Building) and bring the paid receipt to the Bison One Card Office.
6. What are Bison Bucks?
Howard University has provided students with a safe and convenient way to make purchases on and off-campus using their Bison One Card (the official Howard University ID), Bison Bucks! Bison Bucks can be used to make purchases at: (a) all on campus dining locations; (b) select vending machines; (c) laundry rooms; and (d) certain off-campus restaurants and retailers. 7. How can I purchase Bison Bucks?
Students, parents, grandparents, cousins, friends, etc. can visit the Howard University’s ManageMyID website by going to https://howard.managemyid.com and select “Guest Deposit” from menu on the left hand side. Guests can use a credit/debit card to purchase Bison Bucks in increments of $15, which will be added to a student’s Bison Bucks account.
Important Note: Guests will need the student’s ID number, first and last names to deposit funds in the student’s Bison Bucks account. The “@” symbol must be replaced with a zero, e. g. ID number @123456 will be entered as 0123456.
8. What happened to Dining Dollars?
Dining Dollars now automatically come with the purchase of a meal plan. Your Bison One Card will be loaded with a set amount of Dining Dollars, depending on the meal plan you purchased and those funds can be used for purchases at any on-campus dining location. Please visit http://auxiliary.howard.edu to find all on-campus dining locations.
9. How can I sign up for a meal plan?
Please complete a Meal Plan Authorization Form (which can be found on the Bison One Card Office website at http://auxiliary.howard.edu) and return the form to the Bison One Card Office. Meal Plan options for Fall 2012 include:
19 Meal Plan $1,977 per semester
19 meals per week + $100 Dining Dollars
14 Meal Plan $1,947 per semester
14 meals per week + $150 Dining Dollars
5 Meal Plan $915 per semester
5 meals per week + $100 Dining Dollars
Block 140 Meal Plan $1,850 per semester
140 meals per semester + $175 Dining Dollars
Dining Dollars Only Plan $750 per semester
$750 Dining Dollars
Students residing in meal plan mandated residence halls may only choose the 19, 14 or 140 Block meal plans.
10. What’s the difference between Bison Bucks and Dining Dollars?
Dining Dollars are included with the purchase of a meal plan and additional funds cannot be added to that account later. Dining Dollars can be used only at on-campus dining locations. Dining Dollars expire at the end of each semester. Bison Bucks are loaded to the student’s account through the ManageMyID website, https://howard.managemyid.com , by using a credit/debit card. Bison Bucks can be used at the campus Bookstore, all on-campus dining locations, selected vending machines, all laundry rooms and selected off-campus restaurants and retailers (see http://auxiliary.howard.edu for a complete list). Bison Bucks carry over from year to year and are refundable with request upon graduation or withdrawal.
